Stitching, knitting, reading, life…whatever catches my eye
July 26th, 2012 by Annette

Two “shoulds” knocked off the list!

First, I finished off Tribal Penguin from White Willow Stitching:

He’s stitched on an unknown dyed opalescent aida from a long ago grab bag.

This is a Travelling Pattern and is ready to travel on!  Please add a comment if you’d like to host this guy for the next leg of his journey and I’ll select a name on Tuesday, 7/31.

Second, I finished off my second Camp Loopy project before the deadline!

This is my moderately willing model, Z.  The shawl is well over 5′ wide and about 4′ at the longest point.  It will be perfect in the winter when I need just a little something over my shoulders in the office or at home.  The pattern is “Simple Shawl for Fancy Yarns” [Ravelry Link] and the yarn is four skeins of  the definitely un-fancy Cascade 220 in Midnight Blue.

This is the largest knitted project I have ever completed!

Next… time to solve the Lizzie*Kate Halloween Mystery 😀

  1. Congratulations on your finishes — I’d love to host the penguin next!

  2. Both your finishes look great. As does your model!

I would like to be included in the drawing for the traveling penguin.

  3. Nicely done! And I was shocked at the shawl picture, thinking K had cut all her hair off. Z makes much more sense. 🙂

  4. Great job on the penguin. The shawl is gorgeous! Congratulations on your finishes.

  5. Love the penguin and think he should visit the UK 🙂

  6. I love the the little penguin. Very cute.

And the shawl is great! Simple and very wearable. I’m going to add it to my queue, as I have a skein of Wolle’s Colour Changing Cotton that would be perfect for it.
