Stitching, knitting, reading, life…whatever catches my eye

Another Summer Update

Three Sunday football games later….

Not bad.  They were good games so I had to pay a bit more attention.  I did finish most of the stitching and beading on the bottom two ‘pages’ of the chart (missing a leaf off to the right).  Only six more to go.

I’ve been wasting time on aimlessly searching researching on Ravelry the last few days for something to do with this:

It’s a skein of Wollmeise yarn from The Loopy Ewe.  The most recent Sock Club shipment.  I was not enamored with the sock pattern that came with it and have been thinking about an alternative for the precious Wollmeise (it’s tough to come by).

Color is a bit washed out on the green/blue end.  This is a little closer:

I stumbled upon The Old Shale Scarf today and I think we have a winner!

The question for tonight… should I start my scarf or should I start the second sock (finished the first one last night)?  Decisions, decisions….

(I love this week’s red polish – it’s OPI’s Affair in Red Square)

Finally… have you seen this:  The Library by Little House Needleworks.  I love it!!!

  1. That tarn is gorgeous and will make a great scarf – I’ve recently done an Old Shale style scarf in sock yarn (Happy) and it didn’t take as long as I thought it would, and of course it drapes well.

Seems to have been an unconscious harking back to family history, too – my ma saw me knitting it and said her grandma used to knit everyone striped Old Shale scarves – whether or not they wanted one :o)

  2. Ah football season, hours of mostly uninterupted stitching time. That’s how I managed to finish part 6 of Caribbean.

Your Queen is looking lovely, and I’ll leave the knitting picks to those who know what the heck they’re talking about. But the yarn is a very nice color.

  3. Gorgeous yarn – I know whatever you make out of it will be lovely! I also stitched during the footbal games on the weekend – I’ll have to try it more often!

I know – that pattern didn’t work well. The pattern competes with the colors and you lose it. I’m thinking about doing another Ishbel with mine…..

  5. Did you have to include the link to The Library? I love it, darn it.

  6. LOL! Annette…thanks for leaving a comment I must have missed your blog change…sorry!
Anyway…I had to LOL! about it freezing in AZ 🙂 LOL! That’s great!

  7. Your summer Queen is coming along beautifully 🙂 Look forward to seeing the scarf knitted up 🙂
