Friday Bits

Tomorrow is my sixth blog-iversary.  How time flies!!  I looked back on an early WIP list a few weeks ago.  (See it here)

How sad is it that many of them are still WIPs?  Four of them are complete:  Winter Queen, Santa’s Midnight Ride, Road to Bethlehem and Christmas Elegance.  A few have been

Given the anniversary and the nature of my posting, I’ll be celebrating with *three* giveaways!

  • Stitcher Stuff
  • Knitting Bits
  • Book Bundle

Details of what is in each and the how/when to enter will go up this weekend. Hopefully something for everyone 🙂

In yesterday’s comments, Christine said:

I tried reading Outlander a few months ago but I just could not get into it

It took me three tries to get started with Claire & Jamie.  Not long after I joined the stitching boards (2001-ish) I heard about the series and checked the first book out of the library.  I think I managed the first 25 pages and set it aside.  A few months later, I checked it out again and made it thru about 50 pages.  Still not feeling the love there.

Not long after, I struck up a friendship with Erin.  Erin is a big Outlander fan.  She requested I read the first 200 pages (essentially past Jamie & Claire’s wedding).  If I wanted to stop after that… fine.  But she was betting I’d be sucked in.

She was right.

I want to say this was fall 2002.  I know it was about the time Fiery Cross came out.

That’s it for today!  Come back this weekend to see the giveaway details 🙂

  7. I will happily accept the blame for getting anyone hooked on Outlander. 🙂 Happy Blogoversary! Which means I missed making a post about my own, I do believe. Wasnt’ it bad planning of me to start a blog a year before my son was born so close to his eventual birthday? LOL
