Stitching, knitting, reading, life…whatever catches my eye
February 23rd, 2010 by Annette

Just some odds and ends to share….

First, I snapped this (with my Blackberry) yesterday as I was leaving work:

I was sitting in the vanpool van, this isn’t thru my windshield.  The rainbow was so bright!  It was lovely.

Here’s my Olympic knitting progress:

Sadly, my Olympic goal is not looking good.  This is a two-skein project and I’ve yet to finish the first one (seen on the left).  We shall see.

I did manage to finish the latest in the Mirabilia RR – this is a portion of Violet.

I also finished a couple books… and have to recommend one of them to any fan of good old fashioned sword/sorcery/epic fantasy.

The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks

This is the first in a trilogy and by all that’s holy, do *not* read the blurb for the second book before you finish the first one.  MAJOR spoiler right there!!  It’s got magic, politics, fighting, assassins, heroes and a nice twisty plot 😀

  1. Pretty rainbow! I bet those are quite rare in the desert (they’re not all that common here). I need to place an Amazon order soon. Might sneak a book in there….

  2. Oooooh, new fantasy book. Woot! I’ll pass the recommendation to my mom, too; she absolutely rips through all of the fantasy series books.

  3. I loved Way of Shadows. I have the other two here to read but now I think I might have to reread Way of Shadows before starting book 2. I think it’s been a year maybe even two since I read it.

  4. I’ll have to put Way of Shadows on my list. You’ve never steered me wrong! BTW, I started Dead Witch Walking yesterday. It’s keeping me entertained while on the exercise bike. 😀
I do like the colors of that yarn so very much.

  5. I have a real fondness for assassins. Need to add that to to The List. Violet looks lovely on that fabric. 🙂
