Thursday Thirteen – Polish

I may not have mentioned this previously, but I have a deep and abiding love for nail polish.

I’ve worn acrylic nails for years.  My own nails are extremely thin and soft so I happily spend an hour every two weeks on probably the lone “girly” activity I indulge in.

Over the years, I’ve amassed a nice collection of polish (I’ve always preferred to bring my own rather than trust the salon of the time to have something suitable).  Granted, it numbered in the dozens (and I thought that was a good amount) up until a year or so ago when I joined a few like-minded friends on Facebook and now well…..let’s just say I could polish my nails every day for the next 16 months and not duplicate a color.

It’s cheaper than therapy and color makes me happy.

In no particular order – here are 13 of the colors I’ve worn this year:

1 – butterLondon Pitter Patter (with Digital Nails Spectraflair topcoat)  – bL put out this color in honor of the new little Prince.  The Spectraflair adds the touch of holographic sparkle.

2 – Color Club Miss Bliss – gorgeous holographic sparkle

3 – China Glaze Exceptionally Gifted with butterLondon Tart with a Heart tips

4 – Sephora by OPI What Film Noir You In? – pictures don’t do this one justice!

5 – OPI Danke-Shiny Red with Out the Door Northern Lights topcoat – can you tell I like a little sparkle on my fingers?

6 – Cult Nails Time Traveler with Digital Nails my other car is a TARDIS accent – this was my Comicon look and admittedly one of my favorites on the list.

7 – Zoya Sooki with Digital Nails Fibonacci Sequins accent

8 – OPI Pussy Galore – a textured finish.  Fun and nowhere near as annoying as I expected

9 – Picture Polish O’Hara

10 – Orly Sugar Plum with Cult Nails Charlatan topcoat

11 – Sally Hanson Cherry Red (stripes are Sinful Colors Tokyo Pearl and Midnight Blue)

12 – Morgan Taylor Wonder Woman with HITS Hermes tips (worn for the premier of Percy Jackson Sea of Monsters)

13 – Jade Deja Vu – on my nails right now.  Stunning holographic polish!

With the exception of #12 (Morgan Taylor) all polish is available online (Cult Nails, Llarowe, Zoya, Digital Nails, butterLondon) or at a local shop (Ulta, Sephora, Sally Beauty Supply, Walgreen’s)

  1. Supabling! Love nail polish too but just get super annoyed cause I suck at applying it. Plus I can’t stand having long nails when I’m typing, which is every day :/

Your colours are lovely, and I already see some I am going to have to find.
