The Week(ish) in Review

More than a week, I know.

Let’s just move on, shall we?

So, last week was kinda hectic.  First, a trip to New York, as you can see here thanks to my trusty new iPhone:

I can say that this is the first (of three) trips that I saw more than the hotel and the office.  Along with a walk thru Manhattan (evidenced above), I also rode the Staten Island Ferry and visited the southeast corner of Central Park.

All sans camera…..as you can (not) see….

There was a tiny bit of stitching:

I added the black at the top and the bright blue perle while in NY on Tuesday eve when it was absolutely *pouring* outside.  I broke down and bought an umbrella for the three block walk between the office and my hotel.  Best $5 I spent.

On Thursday, while in NY, I celebrated my birthday.  Ok, technically the celebration started on Wednesday night after a team dinner at a small Italian restaurant.  My coworkers conspired with the restaurant staff to surprise me with a lovely cheesecake and what sounded like the entire restaurant singing (it wasn’t a very big place….and our table of seventeen was definitely the largest party).  It was a surprise….I truly had no idea anything was up until the candle-laden cake came out of the kitchen.

Thursday afternoon proper was spent on the walking tour of NYC referenced above after most of a day of meetings.  I did manage to have all three meals that day paid for by three different people representing three different companies 😉 and none were me!

Friday was a travel day back home.  A very very very long day thanks to storms in the South, but I did manage to get home about 10pm Friday eve, local time after leaving at 5am NY time that morning to head to the airport.  That would be 20 hours door-to-door.  Not something I care to repeat any time soon.

My family kept up the birthday celebration thru the weekend which did happily include a bit of stash:

From L-R:

  • Bayside Bungalows by Country Cottage Needleworks (chart/threads)
  • Wicked by Primitive Needle (kit)
  • The Boys Are Back in Town (kit) – from my mother

The first two courtesy of my birthday spree at Needlecraft Corner.

I managed to finish three books thanks to the long travel days, but I’ll save that for another post!

I love “Bayside Bungalows” – I stitched it a couple of years ago (I still have to get it framed, though!)
